SIMRIG SBM

Every force made physical.

The SIMRIG Belt Module (SBM) is a complete belt tensioner delivered with everything you need.

Feel braking, acceleration, cornering, curbs, and gear shifts through the harness.

Independent left / right

Feel which side it came from.

A single belt channel can communicate magnitude. Two independent channels can also communicate direction.

The SBM has independent control of the left and right shoulder straps. Vehicle forces are transmitted through the harness for left/right cornering feedback and other asymmetrical effects such as hitting a curb with the left wheel.

  • Left/right cornering feedback
  • Curb-side differentiation
  • Asymmetrical effects

Linear actuation

Pull the strap, don't wind it.

A linear actuator is just that, linear. The force is not dependent on strap thickness or lever action.

The SBM uses a linear actuator to get smooth and constant motion over the entire range of travel. There is no strap to tangle on a pulley, and no non-linear levers to account for.

Harness geometry

The force should come from the right direction.

The SBM comes with an adjustable upper strap guide in the form of two rollers. The rollers are height adjustable and integrated into the SBM.

The rollers guide the shoulder straps through the seat openings at shoulder height, reducing friction at the seat openings and redirecting the downwards pull into backwards force.

Complete system

More than a belt tensioner.

We call it the SIMRIG Belt Module for a reason: it is a complete system. It comes with a five-point harness, a belt tensioner, adjustable shoulder-strap guides, software, a power supply and an emergency stop: everything you need.

Active belt feedback

30 × 2 · 150 mm

Two independent channels communicate both force and direction.

  • Up to 30 kg peak pull per side
  • Direct linear travel

Adjustable force geometry

Rearward pull

Adjustment helps preserve the intended direction of force into the seat.

  • Roller height and module angle
  • Top-slot or side-slot mounting

SIMRIG Control Center

Base → peak → drive

Automatic calibration, profiles and detailed effects without complicated setup.

  • Two-setting start
  • Optional deeper tuning

Harness included

5-point harness

A compatible black harness connects without modification.

  • Hook-in shoulder straps
  • Included with the system

Safety built in

Controlled force

Hardware and software safeguards support deliberate force control.

  • Dedicated emergency stop
  • Protection and position limits

Everything required to install

Ready to install

The essential connections, mounting hardware and tools are included.

  • 120 W PSU and USB cable
  • Hardware and required tools

SIMRIG Control Center

Easy to start. Deep by design.

The SBM can move 150 mm — enough travel to automatically tension your harness while driving, and to automatically loosen it after the race.

First time setup is easy. Attach the harness somewhat loose. Use the calibrator in SIMRIG Control Center to set the base tension, the peak tension, and then you're ready to race.

Supports 60+ titles across street racing, rally, and flight simulation. Learn more about SIMRIG Control Center

01

Base

Comfortable driving tension.

02

Peak

Strongest tension during heavy braking.

03

Drive

You are ready to race!

Telemetry becomes force

Braking, acceleration, cornering, bumps, curbs and gear shifts — including independent left/right effects.

Profiles and tuning

Per-car and per-game profiles, with automatic profile selection where supported. Fine-tune individual effects when wanted.

No drivers

Uses Windows standard drivers that come pre-installed. The USB connection is entirely isolated — almost no power is drawn from USB, leaving more power and a clean signal for your other peripherals.

Simulators

60+ games supported.

Street racing, rally, trucks and flight. SIMRIG Control Center detects the running game and loads the right profile. It even recognizes the correct vehicle in many games.

Installation and adjustment

Built for the driver. Easy to install.

Adjustable rollers

Height adjustable to fit your seat and shoulders. Range 57–85 cm between the seat openings and the bottom of the belt module.

Adjustable angle

Attaches to the rig and to the top of the seat, and pivots freely as the seat is adjusted backwards or forwards.

Two mounting positions

Attaches directly to your aluminium extrusion rig, either on top of the rear profile or in one of the side slots.

Typical install

< 30 min

It should take less than 30 minutes to install the SBM on your rig.

Prerequisites

Seat fit matters.

Choose a seat that fits the driver. The shoulders should sit within the shoulder-strap openings, ideally in the middle.

The SBM can adjust the strap path behind the seat, but the seat itself still needs to fit the driver correctly.

For the best harness geometry, the top of the driver's shoulder should sit within the vertical height of the seat's shoulder-strap opening. If the opening is too high or too low relative to the shoulder, the seat itself limits how well the strap path can be aligned.

The harness

Bring your own or use ours.

The SBM comes bundled with a two-inch five-point harness. All black. Use it or bring your own.

The SBM can accommodate most harnesses. The rollers are 80 mm wide (3 inch). The attachment points allow for either hooks or loops at the end of the straps.

Quiet operation

Built to be felt, not heard.

Quiet motors

Barely noticeable during normal use.

Strap guidance

Ball-bearing rollers guide the shoulder straps through the seat openings instead of dragging across the seat edge — longer harness life, less shoulder pinching.

Rubber damping

Helps reduce mechanical noise at the hook connection points.

SIMRIG ecosystem

Works standalone, better together.

The SBM is a complete standalone belt tensioner, but when used with a SIMRIG motion system, something magical happens. Both systems are controlled by the same software, by the same algorithms, at the same time.

By processing the game telemetry once, for both systems, a single in-game event translates to a single motion cue in the real world. No delays, no disconnect.

Frequently asked questions

A belt? A harness? A strap? What's the difference?

In a street car, it's called a seat belt: a three-point system with a lap section and a single diagonal shoulder section, mounted on an inertia reel so it can extend as you move. In a race car, it's called a harness: a four-, five-, or six-point system with two shoulder straps, a lap belt, and one or two crotch straps, fixed in length with no reel, so it holds you firmly in the seat. A strap is simply one of the individual lengths of webbing that make up a belt or harness.

Is a harness included?

Yes. A two-inch, all-black, five-point harness is included with every purchase.

Can I use my own harness?

Yes. The rollers support straps up to three inches wide. The strap attachment points accommodate both hooks and loops.

Do I need two e-stop buttons?

We include an e-stop pass-through cable for SIMRIG motion systems. This allows the belt tensioner and the motion system to share a single e-stop button. This cable isn't compatible with non-SIMRIG products.

Does the power supply work in my region?

The power supply works all over the world. A power cable for your region is included.
