Auto tuning — adaptive motion profiles per vehicle
by Sebastian Djerf
SIMRIG Control Center includes an auto tuning function designed to generate a base motion profile for each individual vehicle.
After a short calibration session — typically a few laps — the system analyzes telemetry characteristics such as acceleration patterns, braking intensity and suspension behavior.
Based on this data, a dedicated baseline profile is created for that specific car.
Different vehicles generate different telemetry signatures. A lightweight open-wheel car behaves differently from a GT3 platform. Rally cars communicate weight transfer differently from touring cars.
Auto tuning ensures that motion output reflects those differences without requiring manual parameter adjustments from the user.
The system does not guess. It observes, analyzes and calibrates.
Whether using the SIMRIG SR1, SR2 or SR3, vehicle-specific baseline profiles enhance consistency across simulation titles.
Motion should adapt to the car — not the other way around.
