Can you install a motion system on a round tube rig? | Ron Review't

by Sebastian Djerf

A Fanatec ClubSport tubular cockpit is upgraded with a SIMRIG SR2 motion system to evaluate how a round-tube rig performs under dynamic load.

Using a reinforced aluminum subframe mounted to the rig's M10 foot points, 80x40 profiles create a stable hybrid base for actuator integration.

Motion quickly exposes structural flex. When rigidity is maintained, telemetry translates into precise, controlled movement.

Testing with a Porsche RSR in Assetto Corsa (Zandvoort) demonstrates clear road texture, defined load transfer and authentic pitch and roll. The SR2, with its 225 kg dynamic capacity, provides sufficient headroom for the full configuration.

We are actively evaluating similar integration solutions for tubular platforms to simplify installation while maintaining structural integrity and motion performance.

Motion is not limited by frame design — only by rigidity.
